What Is Morning Inspiration?

The Collins English dictionary defines inspiration as a feeling of enthusiasm you get from someone or something that gives you new and creative ideas.” The word inspire is from the Latin “inspirare,” meaning to breathe into. The word was initially used in a divine or religious context, meaning a truth or idea divinely revealed to an unsuspecting individual.

Have you ever had an experience that suddenly energized or motivated you? It could be reading a great book, or witnessing someone do something you admire, leading you to take action. Inspiration is motivation from an external source that causes someone to have an idea and create something.

Ordinary people who accomplish extraordinary things inspire us the most. Those who are selfless, innovative, and creative catch our attention. Leaders like Mother Teresa and Martin Luther King Jr. believed they could change the world, and they inspired millions.

Morning inspiration refers to things to do in the morning that help you get inspiration and motivation for the rest of the day. Mornings are the best time to prepare for the day and kickstart your day. You can read inspirational quotes, say a prayer of gratitude, or do some mindful body movement.

How to Find Your Morning Inspiration

Morning inspiration is crucial because it sets the tone for a beautiful morning and chases the Monday morning blues away. When you get inspired, you approach things or solve problems from a different perspective.

Listen to music

Music is a powerful mood-changing tool. If you are not a morning person, listening to upbeat music motivates and inspires you to have a great day. Choose music that makes you feel lively and happy while in the shower, working out, cooking, or going to work.

Most high-achievers meditate every morning, which calms them before they tackle the day. Meditation takes different forms, but the simplest is closing your eyes, controlling your breathing, and letting the noise in your head quiet down. It might take some practice, but with time, it becomes easier.

Listen to motivational speeches and podcasts

Listening to motivational speeches and podcasts is a powerful way of motivating yourself. We are inspired to do better when we listen to other people’s experiences and exploits. Speakers who have been in your situation and managed to overcome it will inspire and motivate you to achieve your goals.

If you practice religion, putting God first and starting your day with a morning prayer can be a powerful motivator. When you wake up, spend time listening to great religious music and speeches from religious speakers can set the tone for a productive day ahead.

Reading is another powerful way to feed your mind with positivity and find your morning motivation. Any successful person will tell you that reading before starting the day is a great way to calm your mind and fill it with information while it’s still fresh. Read inspirational books or inspirational and happy quotes for morning motivation.

Spend some time journaling and writing down your thoughts. Write and speak out positive quotes and affirmations to motivate you to have a good day. Use gratitude journaling to thank God for all your blessings. You can journal in any style as long as you put your thoughts on paper. You can also download journal apps on your phone, although most experts recommend handwritten journaling.

Exercise is one of the most critical activities you should add to your morning routine. Exercise triggers the release of feel-good hormones that decrease anxiety and depression, helping you live a happier and healthier life.

How to Build a Morning Inspiration Ritual

Morning inspiration rituals give structure to your day. Your morning ritual is personal, and you should build one around your preferences and lifestyle. Here is how you can create a morning inspiration ritual:

Spare some time each day

Set aside some time each day for a morning inspiration ritual. Start with something reasonable that won’t cause you too much strain. Set your alarm for the same time of day every day. Set aside ten minutes earlier than usual and use that extra time to do something specific.

Make it a habit to sleep earlier than usual. With time and a good night of rest, it becomes easier as you get used to the new habits.

Create a peaceful space for the ritual

Create a peaceful space for your morning ritual. Pick a quiet place where you can meditate, journal, or read.

Look for an accountability partner

Look for a friend who can act as your accountability partner. You can sync your rituals and send each other inspiring and good morning messages every morning to keep each other motivated.

Forgive yourself

Sometimes, you may have a bad day and fall off the bandwagon. Forgive yourself and celebrate your small wins. A great morning routine checklist should inspire and motivate you to forgive yourself for yesterday’s errors and forge forward into the new day with new hope.

Personalize the ritual

Make the ritual work for you. Don’t force yourself to do things that don’t bring you joy. For example, if you force yourself to meditate when you would instead journal, it will not help you feel inspired. Doing the things you love for inspiration makes the process worthwhile.
