What is The Best Motivation For Your Morning?

Waking up is not always easy and sometimes you may need some motivation. Mornings signal a new beginning and are a great time to prepare for a good day. A morning routine that aligns with your lifestyle puts you in a good mood and helps you start your day on the right foot. There are numerous ways to motivate yourself and positively jump-start the day, and here are some of the best morning motivators:

Waking up early

Research suggests that early risers tend to be more successful and proactive. Most CEOs of successful companies say they wake up early to get a head start on their days. An early morning allows you more time to eat a healthy breakfast, work out, or engage in leisure activities. With more morning time, you can avoid rushing and be better prepared for the day ahead.


Regular exercise is excellent for your health. It boosts mood, memory, and energy levels by increasing serotonin and dopamine production. Morning exercise enhances your mood and improves decision-making.


Meditation is an excellent way to begin the day and have a good morning. It relaxes you by activating your “rest and digest” or parasympathetic nervous system, which reduces or relaxes your body’s activities. Meditation helps your body feel rejuvenated and ready to tackle the day’s challenges.

Listening to inspiring podcasts

Listen to an eye-opening and motivational podcast to help kick start your day. Podcasts stimulate and improve your imagination, and your brain works to visualize and understand what you are listening to.

Morning affirmations

When you wake up, repeat your morning affirmations in your head or out loud. Affirmations improve your self-esteem and boost your self-confidence. Positive affirmations help you build confidence by eliminating limiting beliefs about yourself.

Preparing The Night Before For Your Morning

How you end your day determines how you start the next day, and how you start your morning determines how you spend the rest of the day.

When you have no structure, your evenings and mornings may be chaotic. Only a tiny percentage of people are morning people. With some night time changes, you can create a functional morning inspiration routine and have a productive day. Here are some tips on how to set yourself up for morning motivation the night before:


Not having a well planned out morning can sap all the energy out of your day. Preparing the night before makes things easier. For instance, you can lay out the next day’s clothes and prepare breakfast and lunch ingredients.

Surround yourself with some inspiration

Keep something motivating in your room, like some framed photos or a favorite piece of art. Create an inspiration board with quotes, pictures, or whatever brings you joy.  Looking at motivational elements in your room before bed and first thing in the morning keeps you motivated and goal oriented.

Exercise before bed

Exercising boosts mood and memory. Including it in your night routine is an ideal way to ensure you get restful sleep after, and set yourself up for a fresh morning the next day. The workout, whether light or intense will make you feel rejuvenated the next day.

Listen to music

Create a playlist of inspiring songs. Motivational music will help you end your day on a calm note, helps you sleep better and help’s in improving your efficiency and productivity the next day.

Write a to-do list

Write a morning routine checklist for the next day, including projects and appointments. This list helps you start the day with a plan and stay motivated. Prioritize the tasks and start with the hardest, finishing with the easier tasks.

Plan your goals and schedule the night before to avoid distractions. Focus on getting into the right mindset to avoid feeling discouraged.

Get a good night’s sleep

Whether or not you are a morning person, getting a good night’s sleep ensures you wake up rested. Eat dinner a few hours before bed and avoid caffeine and alcohol. Instead, have a glass of warm milk or non-caffeinated tea to induce sleep. Switch off all electronics like TVs and tablets at least an hour before bed time as they activate your brain, making it harder to fall asleep. You can also take a warm bath or read a book to help you fall asleep.

Hold yourself accountable

Having someone else counting on you or being part of a shared morning goal can give you the push you need to get going. Plan a virtual or physical morning workout with a friend or commit to helping a colleague complete a task. These shared goals enhance your motivation and add a layer of connection to your morning routine.

When your alarm goes off, the first instinct is to hit the snooze button and snuggle for a few more minutes. Wake up as soon as the alarm goes off to avoid eating into the time you have already scheduled for other activities.

Wake up early
